What a great question — has anyone else been prescribed Venetoclax (Venclexta) for myeloma, especially after Revlimid has run its course?

What a great question — has anyone else been prescribed Venetoclax (Venclexta) for myeloma, especially after Revlimid has run its course?

It's really encouraging that your team at Moffitt is staying proactive. When Revlimid (lenalidomide) has reached its limits, moving to a new treatment plan makes a lot of sense, and it sounds like your care team has a solid plan in place. Venetoclax is not yet FDA-approved specifically for myeloma, but it has shown promising results in clinical and real-world settings — particularly for people with a specific genetic marker called t(11;14), which affects how myeloma cells survive. If your team at Moffitt recommended it, there's a good chance your myeloma has features that make it a strong candidate.

Pairing it with Daratumumab (Dara) is a combination that has been generating interest in the myeloma community. Since this is a newer approach for myeloma, here are some things worth discussing with your oncologist before starting:

- Side effects to watch for — nausea, fatigue, low blood counts, and infection risk are commonly reported
- Monitoring schedule — ask how often blood work will be checked, especially in the first few cycles
- What to do if side effects appear — having a clear plan helps, especially since you've had a smooth ride with Revlimid so far
- Signs of serious reactions — fever, unusual bruising, or breathing changes should be reported immediately The fact that you've tolerated Revlimid so well for 7 months is genuinely a good sign — your body has shown it can handle treatment. That said, every medication is different, so keeping close communication with your oncology team will be key as you transition.

Other MyMyelomaTeam members have navigated similar treatment changes, and sharing your experience once you start could really help others in the same boat. Wishing you a smooth start in 3 weeks! 🤞

Hi I am on my 3rd line of treatment now of dexamethasone and Revlimid (stopped the Ixazomib) .My M protein is 2.5😀. I also have the translocation t(11, 14) and read that Venetoclax looks very promising. Another treatment on the horizon?
