What a journey — managing myeloma since 2004 takes real strength and resilience. It's completely understandable to want to know what teclistamab feels like from a real-world perspective before considering it.

While specific member experiences with teclistamab aren't available right now, here's what clinical trials have shown about how people generally tolerate it. Teclistamab is often used in combination with daratumumab (Darzalex Faspro) for relapsed or refractory myeloma. The most commonly reported side effects include:

- Infections (like upper respiratory infections)
- Fatigue
- Fever
- Cough
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Muscle or bone pain
- Injection site reactions

Some more serious side effects to be aware of include severely low blood cell counts and cytokine release syndrome (CRS) — where the immune system overreacts, causing fever, chills, or breathing difficulties. On the positive side, the clinical trial results were quite impressive. After three years, 83% of people had a lower risk of disease progression or death compared to standard treatments — which is a meaningful difference.

Given your long treatment history, your myeloma specialist would be best placed to assess how well you might tolerate teclistamab and whether it's a good fit for where you are in your journey.
