Today I developed Lenolidamide mouth sores. What can I do? Will try salt water rinse. Will they go away? Just finishing my first 21 day cycle. Thank you for any help.

Members shared helpful tips for managing Lenalidomide mouth sores, with many recommending asking an oncologist for prescription options like magic mouthwash, chlorhexidine gluconate oral rinse used as a preventative measure, or a gel containing Choline Salicylate and Lignocaine for fast relief. Several members described personal experiences where sores spread beyond the mouth, highlighting the importance of acting early and staying in close contact with your care team. A recurring theme was community encouragement and solidarity, with members generously sharing what worked for them to help others feel less alone in managing this difficult side effect.

Lin, i never had the issue, but immediately before starting my lenalidomide, my oncologist gave me a prescription for chlorhexidine gluconate oral rinse 0.12% solution. He told me to use it as a preventative measure. Ask your oncologist for some.

Linda5;
I developed mouth sores & that went into full esophagus raw sores. I take Acylovir to counteract that. You oncologist can also prescribe a healing medication for the sores. Unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to that. Basically it’s an imbalance in your acidity/alkaline balance. I went searching to see if I could find another solution & found that increasing alkaline helps. I found a water bottle size filter on Amazon that makes your regular drinking water 95.5%. No sores since then. Filter lasts for 3 months.🤗

Mary that sore was my fault. The SCT was not that bad. I will take a few days of discomfort for the overall pain I had been going through for months. It’s been 10 years since and knock on wood but I haven’t even had a cold or flu.

My Oncologist prescribed me Choline Salicylate, Lignocaine HCL and Benzalkonium Chloride Gel for mouth sores. It gave me relief only in two days. You also ask your doctor about it.
