I would not cancel the biopsy. I have had two, one in collar bone which I did not find painful. Second one in the hip which was painful but the pain was brief and the result apparently more accurate. I think a biopsy is very important for SMM as it shows you whether you are progressing or not and you need to have a baseline to tell if you are progressing. Short term pain for long term gain in my opinion. If you have had a child I am sure you can handle a biopsy.
Hi Stephanie, I agree with Pbaldini about skill level, what also helped I was given an Oxycodone and Lorazepam one hour before the procedure. I learned after a couple of biopsies that continued use of Oxy for a day or two after really helped.
I had a C-section, but that was extremely painful afterwards, so yeah, I’m sure it won’t be nearly as bad as that
You can check. My Hematologist refused to give me anything but the lidocaine. She said it’s not good for me. Fortunately, it was quick.
