I was alerted to a Levothyroxine recall. The reason for all dosages shown was " sub potent". What does that term mean in a prescription....recall?
Hello @A MyMyelomaTeam Member, here's what Google said below. I take Levothyroxine, but it's not Major Pharmaceuticals or Cardinal Health and they're loose pills in a bottle, not a blister package. You can check your prescription package or bottle and it will say who the manufacturer is.
"Major Pharmaceuticals (Major Rugby) is voluntarily recalling a nationwide batch of Levothyroxine Sodium Tablets because they are subpotent (having less active ingredient than required, making them less effective). The recall covers specific strengths between 25 mcg and 150 mcg packaged in 10-count or 100-count blister packs with expiration dates ranging from July 2026 to January 2027. Recall Details Reason: Routine testing showed the pills are sub-potent and might not work completely. Classification: Designated as a Class II recall by the FDA, meaning health effects are likely temporary or reversible. Strengths Involved: 25 mcg, 50 mcg, 75 mcg, 88 mcg, 112 mcg, 125 mcg, and 150 mcg. Distributors: Major Pharmaceuticals and Cardinal Health. What You Should Do: Check your pill packaging for the specific lot numbers and expiration dates matching the Major Pharmaceuticals Recall Notice. Contact your pharmacy or place of purchase to check if your specific prescription is part of the recall. Do not stop taking your medicine or change your dose until you talk to your doctor."
Hope this helps!βοΈπ»
AI says less potent, or less active ingredients.
That's a great question to ask, but Levothyroxine isn't related to myeloma or its treatment, so it falls outside what can be helpfully addressed here.

Mine are loose in a Rx bottle too; mine are 100 MC. I left a message at the pharmacy. I'll probably get a call tomorrow . I used to take 112 but my dosage was reduced because of anxiety. I've been taking Levo. for a lot of years and Synthroid before that
I also researched the recall, so I called because my dosage was not mentioned and the manufacturer. is....Macleods
Ok, I thought I'd try....so I'll do as you suggest.
