Tecvayli (teclistamab) can cause serious, life-threatening reactions. Key risks include a severe immune overreaction called Cytokine Release Syndrome (CRS), neurologic toxicity (ICANS), serious infections, and liver damage. Common side effects include fever, fatigue, muscle or joint pain, injection site reactions, nausea, headache, and diarrhea. [1, 2]
Because of these severe risks, Tecvayli is only available through a restricted program (REMS). Patients are closely monitored for at least 48… read more
I'm on just Teclistamab and Talquetamalo. One is the med you are talking about. I was in the hospital last month for nine days for the step up dosing done every other day to watch for side effects. My first dose I had stage 1 CRS. No fun. After that no serious side effects. I'm home now. I have the itchy skin rash, more diarrhea, muscle cramps, extreme fatigue, a sore mouth, and lost my sense of taste. My insurance only allows half doses every week instead of the full dose every two weeks my oncologist had wanted. I just had my first shots outside of the hospital Thursday. Yesterday I could taste the banana in my milkshake even though the milk tasted funny. I can taste BBQ sauce, too. That's a plus. I drink 64 oz water every day to protect my kidneys. I'm taking Bactrin and something else to keep infections away. I take Tylenol and muscle relaxers for the pain. I have shortness of breath. But in two weeks my cancer number was cut in half. I have no energy so I just rest for now. I hope as my body gets used to this new regiment some energy will come back. New journey.

Thanks for that info on Tecvayli. Are you now receiving that as part of your treatment?
My oncologist just two days ago told me about that, combined with Darzalex, as a wonderful treatment for my relapsed myeloma. I haven’t started on anything yet. Will get a BMB on August 12 to first determine the percentage of bad plasma. Then we will talk about treatment options.
Appreciate all of your research, Angie!

The only reaction, I had was very low hgb. Liver enzymes are all normal. Kidney's are functioning great. I got 2 units of blood Friday and iron infusion today. I was finally able to go shopping today. I really enjoyed getting out of the house. One more week and I will be going once every two weeks. Only 2 people in Murfreesboro have been approved to get the Tecvayli. Pain is minimal. Diarrhea occasional.
Great to hear!!!
I need my vitamins but they make me constipated geritol is great for iron! I just have to watch not to overdose.
My oncologist had me admitted for 2 days. Second dose admitted.
I feel better now...much better. I haven't had any reaction. I now go every other week. Starting in December...once a month. If all goes well.
