Tina,
If you were admitted, would they have given you hydration then? I’m not sure you can say they wouldn’t treat you, if you refused to be admitted. The ER is there to stabilize patients, and send them on to the hospital or send them home. You were definitely not fit to be sent home. I think it helps to understand how hospitals work. I know that if I drive my son to the ER for his serious heart condition, they will let him sit in the waiting room for 6 hours. If we call an ambulance, they see him right away, and admit him when needed. I hope this helps you understand why the doctor said what they said. This is my understanding anyway.

Tina,
You know yourself and your condition better than anyone. Talk to your Primary Care Doctor about these situations and what to do. Who to go to. I wonder if Palliative Care would be able to help with this. Obviously it was an emergency, but when they refused to treat, that’s a problem. You could also call the Chief of Staff at the hospital and ask if a treatment protocol could be in place for you when you present with symptoms. A week before I had a heart attack, I was in the ER and they told me to go home and that I was the healthiest person in there. This was during Covid.

Wednesday/Thursday here in Brooklyn was horrible. Couldn't even venture out for too long. Eyes burned, throat burned; disgusting acrid smell.
Today a lot better, really cleared up a lot by 1pm. At least the sky was blue.
Be careful taking calcium it can cause heart attacks.
My doctor took me off calcium for that reason.
It was Sunday & Monday
Morning here in SE Iowa. Burning eyes and very smoky. Thank heaven it rained at 6:30 today to clean the air & cool things down.
