Can smouldering multiple myeloma cause breast pain?
Smoldering myeloma will not necessarily cause breast pain. However can affect the first and second ribs which are under the breast area and that could be the pain you're feeling. But if you are feeling bone pain then you probably no longer have smoldering myeloma but full on myeloma. One of the CRAB criteria for myeloma are bone lesions.
Paula,
I will get checked out in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for affirming a similar experience. I could contact my cardiologist, too. My family is a walking case study for heart disease, but thus far, I have been spared.
It could be something to do with vertebrae, which are a little risky too... the hem/onc said I have to wait three months for another spine MRI to check the progress of a spot on my spine.
Best, Jessica
Smouldering multiple myeloma (SMM) is actually asymptomatic, meaning it doesn't cause any symptoms at all — including breast pain. That's one of its defining characteristics.
SMM is often only detected through blood tests, sometimes when checking for something completely unrelated. Breast pain is not a recognised symptom Show Full Answer
Jessica,
A simple ECG at your Primary Doctor or a Cardiologist will let you know. This should be done right away. No waiting. I had a heart attack and am blessed to have survived it. It totally paralyzed me. I was told by my Primary doctor that I would never have to worry about my heart, but after taking a high corticosteroid, I developed heart issues.

Jessica, with your family history, would it not be better to rule out cardiac issues right away? Just to be safe. Two weeks is a long time to wait. Just as a side note, I get breast psin from a lot of caffeine.
