My calcium was 9.5 in 3/24, now it is 10.1/10.2? I have fatigue more than normal, could this be from the calcium? I also added 50g Quik dissolve melatonin to my regimen of 120 mg melatonin to help me sleep, could the melatonin be making me fatigued? Is this to much melatonin????
Dan,
Stop the melatonin and see how you feel. Add it back in once your numbers look better, and reevaluate again. How much D3, K1 & K2 are you taking? I am currently taking 3200IU of D3 and 120 mcg of K1 and 100 mcg of K2. If I have goat cheese, I take more D3 & K2. I truly believe the D3 and Vitamin K and MK7 that are in MRM Bone Maximizer III and taking extra D3 & K2 brought my calcium level down. Also, I tried to eat less cheese.
To balance out K1 & K2, I take Vitamin E complex. The K vitamins help blood clot, and we as SMM patients are prone to blood clots. Vitamin E complex (d-beta, d-alpha, and d-gamma) help thin the blood and get oxygen to all areas of the body. I take 400IU a day, it I have read that the recommended dose for older people is 800 IU. I have kidney stones from taking calcium without D3 and K2. Atherosclerosis too. I did this in 2019 when my leg cramps were so severe. I didn’t learn about Vitamin K until after my heart attack. If @A MyMyelomaTeam Member is doing so well on higher doses of D3, I probably should follow his lead. He says 400 mcg of K2-MK7 to activate an enzyme- my low dose is not cutting it. I do think it is helping my bones because my fingernails haven’t grow this fast since my 20’s.
Vitamin K1 comes from leafy greens and broccoli. If you don’t like broccoli, squeeze lemon on it. Lemons are good for the kidneys.
Vitamin K2 comes from dairy, fermented foods, animal products like butter, sauerkraut and natto.
WebMD says natural is more effective. Recommends for healthy people 90-120 mcg. Says vitamin K breaks down calcium in our bodies, and helps prevent hard deposits in our arterial walls. K2 May slow or stop cancer.
Not a bad recommendation for vitamin K. If you get sick of taking vitamins, I open my calcium and dump it into yogurt. When I’m tired of D3, K2 capsules, I eat a D3, K2 gummy from Nordic.
Dan, with regard to the M-Spike, only time will tell. Try not to stress.

Hi @A MyMyelomaTeam Member
I've recently found that though I take 5,000 to 10,000 IU of D3 daily (targeting 80ng to 100ng serum Vit D), my combo Vit D3 only includes`100mcg of K2-MK7, it's Not Enough K2-MK7 to properly remove Calcium from the blood, which might lead to kidney stones, and possibly high serum calcium or at least contribute to plaque in our arteries.
I've found that a minimum of 400mcg of K2-MK7 is required to activate an enzyme involved with this process.
There's Dr Ford and Dr Berg, with FB Reels that discuss this in detail.
Melatonin:
Definitely, the melatonin at 20mg and above can make you fatigued.
I take 5mg Ritalin - 3 or 4 times a day to help with the fatigue that melatonin creates.
I've been taking melatonin far less frequently and at lower doses. A week ago, I took 60mg late a night. Though it helped me with my neuropathy and sleep, the next morning, I was very tired and quite unstable on my feet.

In my effort to reduce neuropathy, I've been greatly reducing my Carbs in the evening. I found that pomegranate and beet juice, taking with dinner caused a significant flareup. So with dinner, I've removed bread, dessert, fruit, fruit juices, etc.
I find that I definitely need plenty of Carbs but I load up on them, for their energy, early in the day.

Another is I've found that having my phone on 5G causes my hands to sting. While I'm at home, I turn Cellular Off and only use Wifi - eventually, my hands will sting but it takes much longer. When you're out, you can turn Cellular On and set it to LTE and not the stronger 5G.
