Then last week when the after taking prescribed maintenance dose of 20mg Dexona weekly, great relief and pain gone. After that four days back I travelled about 100 km using bus and heavy pain came back. Again I took 8mg (non prescription) and thebpain gone. Is it safe
to take dexa in small dose as I am fed up taking pain killers Tranadol, gamaoentin, ultracet, diclofenac tablets. Please suggest.

Be careful taking the extra steroids and talk to your doctor before taking them. I take those same steroids after chemo every week. I take five at a time and I am awake for almost 2 days after taking them.
Prayers for your pain.

I would try acupuncture massage therapy and electrical stimulation therapy (TENS machine).

I agree with everyone else ! I do understand how Dex can Make u feel! I enjoyed the ENERGY I received after chemo. ( l got it for 2 years during my infusions) I got a lot accomplished the 2 days afterwards! I had great deal of energy and did not feel the “ fatigue “;as much !Frankly I was pissed when my Dr. took me off of Dex. But it was explained to me that extensive use is VERY DANGEROUS.I am really sorry to hear about the swelling and the pain. Believe it or not: low dose aspirin helps me reduce swelling I. My legs. But…. It’s really not a med to take without ur Oncologists direction !🙏🏽

We are all in agreement. You will want to talk to your doctor before increasing the dosage on your dexamethasone. Steriods are very powerful drugs with serious side effects.

Ask your doctor if they could prescribe diaretics, to help with the swelling. Drink a lot of water too. Min. 2 liters pero day. Hope with the painkillers you are taking you take stomach protectors. Your doctor must be able to help with your side effects. Wishing you much relief from your pains and aches.
