I received an email from a law firm about a cancer lawsuit. A link in the email took me to a list of addresses throughout the US where the info in the webpage stated to click on an address if I lived, worked or attended school within a four mile radius.
Since one of the addresses was 2 linear miles from a school I previously attended. I entered the website link in CHATGPT and asked what it entailed. ChatGPT researched and found a lawsuit against Sterigenics, a company that uses Ethylene-oxide… read more

Hi Martin,
Thanks for sharing. I read your story and you have been though a lot. Since you are doing so much better, you are a strong person.
I use to feel fatigued a lot, but now sometimes I feel a lot of energy. It comes and goes but seems to happen more lately since my doctor decreased my Revlimid dosage in half.
Regarding your exposure to EtO, I was also concerned about the amount of my exposure but my research shows although Defense attorneys will try and say a plaintiffs exposure was small, you only have to prove exposure and your medical condition.
Here's the link. Skip all of the questions and scroll down to the question "Have you lived, worked or attended school within Four Miles of any of the following addresses prior to your diagnosis?" to check the address locations.
It sounds like a long shot but you'll never know unless you check.

Vicki7, I have wondered about EO for some time. In one of my previous lives I would go into plants using 100% EO for massive sterilization of medical products for 3-4 weeks every year for about 5 years. I also spent a lot of time in plants who warehoused medical products sterilized by EO and were still "outgassing" This overlapped the time plants were not concerned (no worker protections) and being careful (to the point of respirators anywhere near EO use and outgassing). Some of the full time workers developed genetic abnormalities causing the changes. While my exposure was sporadic and mostly a week at a time interspersed with no exposure, I have always wondered if there was a connection. One of the main plants was the source of a lot of studies on EO exposure in Irwindale, CA.
Hi Pbaldini,
Thanks for the advice. You're absolutely right, I should let them get my records, but even still, I'll have to get the doctors names going all the way back to 2007 when I was diagnosed with MGUS. I'm not even sure what some of the doctors names were. This disease has been with me nearly 20 years. Yikes!
Vicki,
You may not have the energy, but Law firms probably can do all the work if you agree for them to have access to your records. Let them do the work. You may never have the energy.

Thanks for your reply JD. Have you had a chance to see if any of the Sterigenics buildings are near your home or work. I thought it was a long shot. I still can't believe one of their buildings was near my school. I put Sterigenics address and my school's address in CHATGPT and let Chat figure the linear distance for me.
Low income residents in Willowbrook, Illinois seem to have gotten the worst exposure since they lived near one of Sterigenics buildings. I believe the building has been shutdown. Too many lawsuit payouts probably.
