Hi Peggy. You will need a full workup for sure, as soon as possible. Confusion with myeloma could mean your calcium is high. It could be lots of things. Let your provider know

Peggy,
My cousin has MM and looks great but can’t remember where his favorite restaurant is. MM is not only systemic but you can have lytic lesions on your head. He did. High calcium can also cause confusion. A quick blood test is in order and maybe if that looks okay, a scan of the head. MM treatments can affect the heart. When my heart was in trouble, I slept all day. After showering, I need a 2-4 hour nap,. A blood test called “Pro-BNP” might help detect if treatments are affecting his heart. A echocardiogram too. Many patients have Cardiologists as part of their team. I originally thought my fatigue had to do with my SMM, but once I started heart medication, I felt better.

Keep trying different treatments. Have hope. It is really difficult. People don't see the side effects of treatment, medication and cancer. Everything needs to be explained and talked about in detail to your doctor. I always say I'm fine. Well that is because I'm glad I'm still here to see my grandchildren grow up. I guess I can deal with fatigue and neuropathy. It all come together in a package. If you have MM you will have fatigue. You must explain to people about fatigue. I went to my granddaughter birthday party on Sunday and on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I slept all day and night 🌙. Others don't know what fatigue is until you have it.
