Recently had procedure without sedation. This was my second time. Extremely painful. Never again without sedation.
Always have sedation! Always.
I had one last week with mild conscious sedation. I still felt a lot of pressure with the procedure and I squeezed the nurse's hand very very hard. It didn't last long though and there are benefits of not having full sedation so I will probably stick with that going forward. That was my first bone biopsy and unfortunately after every other test beforehand looked so promising, they did find some abnormal cells. I was diagnosed with Smoldering MM.
Yes. I had one without sedation and one with. I’m going to always request sedation..
Nick, for whatever it's worth, I've been off chemo since 2010. Clean bloodwork. MM really messed up my back, and I lost both knees. My Oncologist says I'm CURED, but I still do bloodwork and have annual video conferences with him. This site was a recent discovery for me, and I'm happy to spread my good news. I'm going to continue staying here, and if it does turn around, folks on this website will be the first to know. Oh yeah, 84-year-old male, shooting for the big 100.
