There was a time where I couldn't eat and I would lose weight, as well as a time where I would eat and eat and gained weight. However, this is different. I'm eating a lot and am still losing weight. Anyone experiencing this?

Weight fluctuations are common with myeloma, and what you're describing could be related to a condition called cachexia, which affects many people with cancer. This syndrome causes the body to burn muscle and fat even when eating normally, resulting in unintended weight loss.

The weight changes you're experiencing could be due to several factors:
• The myeloma itself affecting hormones and metabolism
• High blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia) affecting appetite
• Treatment side effects
• Changes in how your body processes and stores fat It's important to discuss these ongoing weight changes with your oncologist. They can help determine the underlying cause and develop an appropriate management plan. They may refer you to a dietitian or nutritionist who can help create a specialized nutrition plan to support your health during treatment.

We both need to ask our specialist. I have had a lot of stress with other medical problems. Do you have muscle wasting too?
