Immunoglobulin G (IgG) or IgM, IgA, IgE, or IgD are your body’s antibodies and its defense against infections. They’re an important part of your system immune system. When their numbers go up, you’re fighting an infection. The molecule is made up of two heavy chains and two light chains (either kappa or lambda). The light chains have binding sites attached to them to attack a source of an infection, like a virus or bacteria. It means you could have IgG myeloma. Or MGUS or smoldering myeloma. IgG is the most common type. IgG is your 'heavy chain'. You will want to know which light chain you have. Either kappa or lambda. I am IgG lambda myeloma for example.
