My oncologist told me I had the most advanced myeloma when I was diagnosed
Had broken ribs, fractured vertebrae, double pneumonia
Couldn't walk without a walker or canes for 9 months
Once stronger, they did tandem stem cell transplants-then I got my health back for about 5 years
Almost died a few times because of sepsis and pneumonia after that
But the Lord still has me on this earth for some reason
They always said the best possible outcome I could wish for would be 10 years
It'll be 19 years in September-so keep going through the BS with the treatments-there are lots of them now
And keep up the hope!
God bless,
Tony
I had stage 3 when diagnosed march 2020...fast forward car t cell therapy January 2024...I'm doing great about 18 months now
I was diagnosed with stage 3a, December 20th, 2017. I'm still here and doing pretty well. I had a rough first year, but I made it through. I'm still on the same protocol I started with in October of 2017.
I was diagnosed 9yrs ago and have not had any signs/symptoms reoccurring since. I see my oncologist every 4 months and sooner if I have any signs or symptoms of reoccurrence!
Originally I was told I could live for 3-5, possibly 10 years. I had MGUS so I had been monitored for the prior 4 years. I was confused and still am to a point.
