While magnesium can help with muscle cramps, it's crucial to consult with your oncologist before taking any supplements, including magnesium. Some supplements may interfere with myeloma medications or cause unwanted side effects. Your doctor can determine the right dosage based on your specific situation and treatment plan. In addition to magnesium, there are several other ways to manage muscle cramps:

- Stay properly hydrated (discuss safe water intake with your doctor due to kidney function)
- Try using a heating pad on the affected area
- Light exercise to increase circulation
- Consider electrolyte balance
- Get up and walk when cramps occur
- Use warm compresses

Many MyMyelomaTeam members have found relief through a combination of these approaches along with doctor-prescribed solutions.
