want to share a little update about my journey. Recently I went for a CT scan of my lungs, and today the doctor explained the results to me. They found some changes in my left lung compared to before. There are areas where the lung lining looks thicker, and a small mass in the lower part of the left lung has grown a bit since my last scan. Because of these changes, the doctors want to do another test called a bronchoscopy, where they use a small camera to look inside the airways and take samples to understand it better. Hearing all this was not easy for me. It made me emotional because it feels like one thing after another. But at the same time, I am thankful that I am already under medical care and the doctors are taking steps to find out exactly what

Can MM patients will get second cancer after multiple myeloma and also the risk of developing other cancers.
I have a friend who had a breast cancer about five months ago and now she has another type of cancer that is brain cancer, she is 40 years old having two small kids.Doctor said that there is no more hope because the cancer had been very active and spread to hole body.
Heard about it l am very scared and sad.😔🥵

You can get secondary cancers along with Multiple Myeloma, but that doesn't mean you will. Most of us don't, but some people do. Don't borrow trouble.

I didn't think too much about this subject till my former oncologist felt obligated to tell me that continuing on Rev. for my maintenance could possibly cause a second cancer. His words sunk in and I stopped treatments a few months after induction treatments; also had problems with Revlimid. I was on treatment from 2018 till Nov?. 2021. I am still not on treatment to this day. Everyone is different. We are not Clones. I have side effects still and probably age issues too......but shouldn't have happened till later years (my opinion).

I like to get things over-with, always have been this way. I just don't like having to think about something nagging me. It just depends....

I am so thankful that at every visit with my initial oncologist; she wanted to know what was going on, how I was feeling, and were there any side effects I was noticing. Dosages and drugs were adjusted accordingly as I went through induction therapy.

Yes, our treatments can cause secondary cancers. Keep in mind that skin cancer is included in this. So, wear sunscreen every day. We all need to go to a dermatologist yearly, keep up with mammograms, colonscopies, prostate exams etc
