It may mean you are not Smoldering anymore. Are you seeing a Hematologist who only Specializes in Multiple Myeloma? If you are not, you may not be diagnosed correctly or treated with up to date treatment. MM Specialists are rare, so you may have to drive a distance to find one or you can ask if they will talk to you on FaceTime, after they get all your records. They will then partner with your local Hematologist for your treatment and on going healthcare. IgA tends to be higher risk. I am IgA Kappa. Kappa can build up and affect my kidneys. Organ damage is common. Have you had a bone marrow biopsy, CT scan or Pet Scan?

An elevated IgA level can indicate that myeloma cells are producing abnormal antibodies. In multiple myeloma, plasma cells become cancerous and produce large quantities of abnormal antibodies that don't function correctly, unlike healthy plasma cells that make antibodies to fight infections. 3164 is a really high number. I think you would be happier seeing a MM Specialist than ending up in the ER with organ failure. That’s what I have read from too many peoples posts. Stop worrying and get answers. Make sure to take someone with you, so they can take notes.

I’m also Kappa and high risk. Have not started treatment, more labs in 2 months to see if IgA continues to increase. I don’t have an MM specialist, but I do have several phone numbers for some near by. I will reach out to someone very soon. Thank you! I know the importance of the test numbers and I am worried .
