It's Not a Given. A plant Based Diet and Supplements and many Life Style Changes have allowed people to Not Progress. Look at the FB Forum - Beating Multiple Myeloma With A Naturopathic Approach - Dedra is a Member that stopped her progression without Any MM Meds. There's others there as well. Dr Urvi Shah has conducted a Case Study at MSK showing excellent Results (Presented at the ASH2024 Conference) showing that she's prevented progression with Diet, Supplements & Lifestyle Changes

Understanding the progression risk timeline can help you prepare: The highest risk is in the first 5 years with about 10% chance per year of developing active myeloma. This drops to 3% annually in years 5-10, and about 1% per year after 10 years.

Understanding the progression risk timeline can help you prepare: The highest risk is in the first 5 years with about 10% chance per year of developing active myeloma. This drops to 3% annually in years 5-10, and about 1% per year after 10 years.

The key is attending all scheduled follow-up screenings. Your healthcare team will monitor you through regular blood and urine tests to detect any early signs of progression to active myeloma. Early detection provides the best opportunity for effective treatment. Watch for specific signs that may indicate progression to active myeloma, including:
- High calcium levels
- Kidney problems
- Anemia
- Decreased platelets
- Bone lesions
- Increased plasma cell levels
- Higher M protein levels

Some doctors may recommend preventive treatments like bisphosphonates to help protect your bones, and clinical trials using medications like Revlimid and low-dose Decadron may be available for higher-risk SMM patients.

Get a myeloma specialist. Keep up with your labs. Exercise as much as you can. Drink lots of water. Eat a healthy diet.

My Diag in 2021 was quite advanced at 80+% bad plasma with a long list of very bad MM markers. I needed MM Treatments and was very fortunate to get DarzFasPro along with the high dose of daily C3 Curcumin I was taking. My 3 months Induction and 4 months Maintenance was so very hard on me (I needed a walker and transport chair after 2 months of Treatment), that all of that made it very easy for me to make permanent Lifestyle Changes and to learn about Diet, Supplements and how to interpret my Labs that anything less felt like I would have never been able to take my life back. For making this effort, it rewarded me with my Best Labs in 40 years and a complete sense of being Normal Again.

@A MyMyelomaTeam Member,
I think I would have progressed sooner if I did not change my diet. Larry is one of the rare patients who actually change their diet and see great results. Most people don’t want to try. Once you are too sick, changing your diet, supplements and life style gets harder, but not impossible. Old habits are hard to kick. I still haven’t fully implemented changes. My supplements sit on the counter and I forget to take them. My neuropathy is getting worse, so I need to make some changes fast and stick to it.
