I had a crack under a crown, which they believe invited bacteria to reach under the crown and down to the root. 😩 It hurt like crazy and the emergency root canal was done to remove the “angry” nerve in my root. I have had regular dental check ups and my dentist knows how cautious we have to be with dental work. I also discussed my MM with the endodontist prior to the root canal procedure.
Unfortunately, he did not put me on antibiotics as a precaution after the procedure was done, and within a few days my mouth was a mess. I am at the end of my second cycle of ZPak and the infection is still present. My oncologist has taken me off Remlevid and cancelled treatment (Valcade, Zometa) until this infection is 100% cleared up. I believe the next step will be to put me on a steroid medication as a final push to clear up the infection. I am working with my dentist and my oncologist, who are both invested in my treatment to clear up this mess. 🙏

I had to have a tooth pulled before my sct and bmt then waited for a for a few months to get an implant.
then I had to have a deep cleaning, so more antibiotics but all is good
just had a treatment today
Plasma, Zometa, shot of antibodies benedryl and dex so slept afterwards and up for the night..lol
I am in remission so all good .
Playing a lot of golf just got back from Palm Springs 😀

Micky, if my endodontist had prescribed antibiotics at the time I had the root canal, I think I would have avoided this run-away infection. 😩 Lucky you had antibiotics prescribed before your dental procedures as I think that is the key to avoid complications. 👍🏻
