Isn't there a name of a type of MM that takes into account that there is no change in Protein Electrophoresis, just otherfactors?

It depends on the type of Multiple Myeloma. I have Kappa Light Chain Multiple Myeloma, with no M spike. People with light chain myeloma don’t have the same characteristic spike of M protein as many other types of myeloma, which makes the disease more difficult to detect. A blood or urine test will show increased levels of free light chains and, more importantly, an abnormal ratio of kappa to lambda light chains.

Get a blood sample clonoSEQ test to know if your in Complete Remission - it's accurate to 10 -6, no Cancer Per Million Cells Tested. My John Hopkin Consulting Onc to me a year ago that they now use this blood sample clonoSEQ test to track the status of their patients, without the need for annual BMBs.

- Additional specialized blood tests One particularly important test when M protein isn't detected through standard protein electrophoresis is the serum free light chain (SFLC) assay. This test measures light-chain proteins in the blood that might not show up on regular protein electrophoresis. Additionally, urine tests can sometimes detect light chain proteins (also called Bence Jones proteins) that aren't visible in blood tests.
