Members responded warmly to a question about Lenalidomide maintenance therapy after multiple myeloma treatment, with many sharing that it has worked well in keeping their numbers stable and their disease in remission. Several members described managing common side effects like fatigue, diarrhea, neuropathy, low platelets, and anemia, with strategies including dose reductions to 5mg, probiotics, magnesium citrate, dietary changes, and alternating supplement routines. A recurring theme was hope and resilience, with members encouraging one another to advocate for dose adjustments, monitor blood work closely, and explore options like Darzalex or CAR-T therapy if lenalidomide stopped working.

I have been on Revlimid maintenance for about ten months and my blood work looks great. I had my oncologist change from the 10 mg dose to 5 mg and I think my numbers are even better. I asked for the lower dose as I want the least amount of chemo as I’m concerned about a secondary cancer occurring from taking Revlimid. As long as my numbers look good I can stop taking at the 3 year mark! 🤞. Hope you continue to do well!

Have you ever thought about CAR-T Cell Therapy. I have been in remission for almost two years since going through it. Ask your oncologist.

Hello Wilma, It works well controlling myeloma cells but it has some side effects depending on the individual. Best wishes. 👨‍✈️

Hi, I have ben on Revlimid for just under a year, 10mg as maintenance therapy following a stem cell transplant. I take it for 21 days then take off for 7 days. Now I would call the side effects mild, though they used to be worse. Typically I get a headache, a sick feeling and fatigue for some or all of the first 3 days after I re-start it. Then the side effects stop. And as I said they are less severe now then they were 6 months ago. Seems to me a small price to pay for the benefit of at least forstalling a relapse.

I need iron and b-12 for my anemia but iron constipates so have to take miralax or prunes.
Geritol is my go to but it has 12% alcohol which I’m not supposed to have to take mega food blood builder and I alternate.
