I have aggressive myeloma however I responded well with induction and I had a SCT and have been MRD negative for 3.5 years now and just take Revlimid I do have minor side effects like fatigue and toes are numb . Some types of myeloma respond well without SCT so it’s best to consult your myeloma specialist
Best wishes
Paul, not all patients have to have a transplant. Some patients with standard risk myeloma are getting to mrd negativity with induction. They are able to go straight to maintenance. I needed a transplant. I did not have a great response to induction and I'm still not mrd negative. But I'm doing okay 🥰
You can't do that Paul. Knowledge is power. I got on my patient portal. Read all my notes and looked up things I didn't understand. We must advocate for ourselves. We can't if we don't know what is going on.
I think I need a word with my oncologist Donna or do more research I don't have clue about my mm I think I have inherited an ostrich mentality and buried my head in the sand
Good luck with your cart t therapy.Fatigue is horrible when I cannot do anything I feel terribly guilty about it.The treatment plan in the us seems to be vastly different to here, they don't offer regular scans just bloods every 3 months.
If you’re in remission do you still receive monthly maintenance therapy? If so, what do you receive?
