had CT showed 3 lystic lesions on breastbone plus 1 on left 4th rib. In lots of pain. only had 1 treatment Zometa, doctor says in 2-3 weeks will start Chemo. Is there anything else to do doctor says just wait for meds to start. So now severe pain hurts to breath feels like a knife stabbed me in chest. Are pain meds only thing to do.

Ugh! Insurance!!! Talk to your doctor about your pain level. Keep communication open. There are many combinations of drugs that work.

Thank you, Yes he is a MM oncologist. He was just watching my labs every 2 mnths. He said if numbers went up then he would treat unfortunatly I ended up in ER for I thought pulled muscle and chest pain did CT they found lesions on breastbone. Had appt 3 days later to go over labs he said he was surprised it had advanced so rapidly he didn't expect it.. So now chemo and other drugs in 2wks after Ins approval.

Read @A MyMyelomaTeam Member for his explanation why radiation is not always best and treatment is better. Why is your doctor waiting so long to start treatment? Is your doctor a MM Specialist? I wasn’t seeing one at first and was really unhappy and switched to a MM Specialist. Most Oncologists are not.
