If yes, what was your schedule each week? Ex: Mon, Wed, Fri,
How long post transplant did you continue the schedule?
Did you have tests to assess your immune functioning before stopping the Bactrim?
I continued to take Bactrim MWF, until 100 days post transplant.
I understand. I’m the caregiver so I have to keep up. Thanks.
Donna, Eddie’s immunoglobulins were close to 800 hundred, but now that he’s back on treatment not sure. He had blood drawn for a full panel. It should all be in by the end of the week. His white cells are down. I’ll ask Wednesday when we see his NP. I’ll go back to Dr Google to see if I can find the article from Mayo that had the testing info. Thank you for always being here to help. You are so appreciated!
Maryanne, I don't remember if I took it the whole year or not? 😏 They go by white blood cells, neutrophil count. Also immunoglobulins. Mine are very low. Have been for years.
My husband takes the 400/160 3 days a week MWF. His doc says for a year. I’ve read that Mayo does it for 200 days and then does a test to assess your immune system. If you meet the criteria you stop it. If not then it’s continued.
Donna, Do you know what tests are used to assess your immune system? A year seems like a long time to be on Bactrim. My husband is getting close to 200 days out from ASCT.
