i just received my ct scan for mouth and jaw ,my oncologist nurse call me after that and told me we need to do biopsy from ur mouth , doctor Cowen suspect it's the myeloma that do that in ur mouse, even my cbc came today very good , m spike 0.1, she told me he is not sure, , any help with reading my ct scan,, and if its myeloma in my mouth my question:is at can be treated?and if somebody experience like my situation I would appreciate if he can tell me his story thanks

Karen my MM was aggressive so that is why SCT was suggested and I went for it.

Karen,
I think the most important thing is to have a MM Specialist who you trust and who you can ask questions and get answers. Write down your questions. Ask your doctor. If you think the answer should be different, get a Second opinion. It’s worth its weight in gold. I did and it helped answer questions and confirmed my suspicions.

I had several spots in my head. This was found after Pet Scan or MIR….can’t remember now. I had one spot in an odd place so Dr Cowan referred me to a neurologist. It was determined to try chemo first & see if that worked and it did. I had another scan of my head in December & all is well.

Yes I’m still Dr Cowan’s patient. In fact I just spoke with him last Tuesday. I relapsed last fall and started a clinical trial Jan 2 & he delivered the news that I’m in remission.

Samar, I am praying for you as well. Myeloma can be in our jaw bones. It can be treated with drugs and radiation therapy. But you will have to wait on the biopsy to know whats going on. It can be other things as well 🙏💖💕
