Hi Susan, My current treatment DRVd with Xgeva is the same as your husband's maintenance now except I also take Revlimid and Acyclovir. Will check out the study from Dana Farber. Thank you for the information on that. I am just very anxious at this point waiting to finish my last 3 treatments and have my biopsy done in October to see if I reach MRD. Getting all the information from this site has given me lots to think about.

Hi Janet. This all occurred this time last year. Our JH specialist moved out of the area and we were assigned a new specialist. She was very honest and said if he was my husband I would not have him go through the transplant. We had orders to check into Johns Hopkins and cancelled at the last minute. Look up Dr Richardsons study from Dana Farber that came out last June 22. If he had been in network we would have stayed with him. We have never met a dr that took so much time with a patient along with great bedside manner
My husband continued on maintenance this last year consisting of Velcade, dex, darzalex faspro and XGEVA. Back in July he had his last Velcade shot to take a break hoping that his bad neuropathy will reverse. So I have a question on this forum if anyone else is only on darzalex , dex, and faspr. Did run this by Dr Richardson at Dana Farber and he said it would be fine. So nice of him to get back with us since my husband is not officially his patient any longer

That is really great to hear! How long ago was that. I presume he is on a maintenance protocol? It's wonderful to hear another opinion from such a great specialist. Hoping to achieve that on my next biopsy next month. Lots of luck to him. Gives me hope.

Hi Janet. My husband achieved full remission of stage 3 lambda light ch myeloma with induction therapy alone. After receiving a minimal residual disease test showing no cells, our specialist at Johns Hopkins advised against stem cell transplant. “He has achieved what many people are trying to achieve with a transplant”. We appreciated her honest opinion
