Don’t do anything until you discuss with an MM expert. Get an opinion from someone at one of the major centers specializing in MM.

My husband was on Xgeva for several years. It's long term use developed into a nightmare. Dentists, oral surgeons are not aware of MRONJ. It is what is going on deep into your jaw bone. My husband had great pain, and a draining fistula to the outside of his mandible. One of the "specialists " said, "he needs to get his mind off of it". Another maxofacial surgeon discharged him, saying the x rays were clear. He is still in treatment with a specialist at the University of Penn. This has caused unbelievable stress, long trips to Penn. We still do not know the outcome. All this along with Multiple Myeloma, because dentists are not aware of, or seek knowledge

I just had some oral surgery to repair a tooth with a root canal. I have been off of Zometa for only a year.

I have been on zometa since 2019 for 9 injections until I become allergic to it. Then gave put me on xgeva. I had been off of xgeva 2 months in 2023 because of being sick from Covid and acute bronchitis. I wanted to get my broken filling repaired had to wait another 4 weeks to be done. After I had filling repaired I had to wait another 3 months before I go back on to xgeva. Now I’m wondering if I want to go back on it.? MM specialist has told me also no implants can be done to repair where I have opening from accident I had several years ago.
