Revlimid Cost
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am new to the myeloma and waiting to start VRd treatment. I heard the one drug is insanely expensive, but oncologist says there are grants to pay for it. Did anyone have trouble with the medication cost?

I had grants for nearly 3 years that picked up the copay every month. The last one just ran out and none of the companies had any funding available. My oncology nurse helped me obtain free Revlimid for the rest of this year thru Bristol Myers. What a big help to not to have to worry about the cost of the copay every month now.

Revlimid is ridiculously expensive. Your oncologist should be able to help you the grant application process. Don't sweat it.

Dawn, there are grants from different sources that will help with copays after insurance pays for most of the cost (or all of the cost). Speak with the oncology nurse about it and she will help you. 🙂

It is dreadfully expensive. Also in CA, if you have a high deductible plan, you can't use the grant money to offset the deductible anymore...It costs quite a bit even with my insurance, but if I didn't have insurance, I could use the grant money.

I know I am on a PPO so I only pay 5 dollars for an 8000 dollar darzalex shot but I heard City of Hope really helps out when you don't have the right insurance. Hang in there Dawn4.
