Greetings from Alaska all of my bone marrow biopsies are done by a radiologist at the hospital. That way I’m on the conscious sedation along with pain medication. I had a bad experience in a doctors office where they tried three times and could not get bone marrow sample so now that’s the Only way I will consent to a bone marrow biopsy.

Ask for sedation. I have had them with and without sedation and wouldn't do it without sedation again. Best wishes!

Hi, I just had my 3rd bone marrow biopsy this week. Received versed and fentanyl and it was painless! Also had floroscopy/ ct scan guided. No reason there should be pain! We suffer enough with our diagnoses! Good luck

Mine was done at a hospital with a radiologist and a doc to administer anaethesia. I had "conscious sedation". I love this , have had it several times. Puts me out like a light but quickly wears off after. Sorry I don't know the specific drug they use for it.
