On A Daily Basis, What Is Your Pain Level Between 1-10?

I ask because I’m in pain a lot. I do have back issues, such as bulging discs.

Sitting it goes down standing it can force me to sit or lay down . If I would try to keep standing it would easily go to a 10 . It’s like my body is being squeezed in a carpenters vice .

John I am the same way but my lower back is definitely from wear and tear and being young and stupid thinking I could move mountains. I take Hydromorphone three times a day and Tylenol Muscle and Body Ache every four hours and that pretty much takes care of the pain at least it makes tolerable.

About 8 months ago my oncologist referred me to a pain management specialist after months of complaining about severe back pain, 5 -8 on the pain scale, sometimes nearly bringing me to my knees. The pain management doc suggested a "radio frequency ablation", inserting a number of needles between the disks in my lower back and applying electric shocks to the needles to temporarily kill the nerves and interrupting the pain signal to the brain. it took a frustrating 4 weeks for it to kick in but once it did, I was pretty much pain free for the next 6 months before the nerves grew back. I had a second ablation about 10 days ago and this time it didn't take near as long for the pain to ease. Not sure how often you can do this but for now, it's been great. Worth looking into.

I have back pain when I stand for a prolonged period of time, about 15 minutes or so. It will be a 5 at first and rapidly escalate to a 9 if I don't sit for a bit. I had much worse back pain before the kyphoplasty last fall. Now the Tylenol takes care of it most times. Good luck to you!
