Has Anyone Noticed Their Skin Becoming Thinner, Since Being Diagnosed?
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

My dermatologist told me to wash, using my hands instead of a cloth. I didn’t ask him why🤷🏽‍♀️. But I’ve noticed broken skin under my breast (where I had been using a washcloth)😳

I think it’s part MM, chemo, drugs and the fact our systems are not what they used to be.

Yes, our skin gets thinner as we get older, but steriods cause our skin to get thinner than it would have otherwise.

During treatment and maintenance my skin became paper thin. Now at 7 months off All MM Meds, my skin is back to normal. Scratches heal quickly and no unusual bruising.

Haven't used a washcloth or bar soap on my body for years.....only on lower privates. Use a body wash as suggested by my dermatologist years ago. Our skin does thin as we age and I'm sure medications don't help either. Hydrate and moisturizer often.
