What's The Most Important Thing You Learned About Living With Myeloma This Past Year?
There will be good days and bad days. As time goes on, there will be more good ones. Divide your days/weeks/months into NEED to do and NICE to do. Put essentials on the need to do list like showering, getting dressed, brushing teeth, etc. and tackle the nice to do if you can. Above all, there is no need to push yourself beyond your limits. The laundry and dirty refrigerator will be there tomorrow. And top of the list - don’t beat yourself up for the things that don’t get done! Delegate if you can. My biggest aha is that my husband has cooked more meals and done more dishes in the past year than he has done in all 50 years of our marriage! There is hop for everyone!!!
I learned that I am stronger and more resilient than I could imagine. I also learned that I had to trust new research findings and not be afraid to be part of a trial.
Patience!
Do the best you can with everyday. God gives us time to reflect on what is important. Let go of any hatred towards ourselves and others and make life easier for the people who care about us. Because they are going through a lot as well.
Just remember that healing is more then just western medicine. There's also a spiritual aspect to this. Unless you can conjure your body just clear your mind and let the healing happen.
