Currently taking 10 mg daily. Late last year early this year I was taking 25 mg for 14 days with 7 days off. Don't remember having any real side effects. I'm wondering if the steroids I was taking weekly held off the hives. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I did the same thing. I called my doctor and he had me stop to see if it went away and it did. Then he had me start back up again and the hives started back up. He gave me more steriods to see if it cleared up and it did. Then once the steriods were done the hives came back. So then he told me to take Benadryl to see if that worked. It did and now I don't have any issues. He told me it was my new immune system fighting it, but I don't take anything now and I am fine. I am able to tolerate the Revlimid just fine. I think our new immune systems are just trying to adjust to it.
Follow your doctor's orders, but that is what I went through. It lasted about a month before my body said ok to the Revlimid again. Of course I still have the bowel issues. I was also diagnosed with IBS before the MM so the doctor feels that plays a big part in my bowel issues.
Yes, I believe it could be the steriods that helped hold off the reaction. I know you already called your doctor. They might have to adjust your dose. Maybe give antihistamines and a steroid cream. I hope it's a transient reaction. I know a rash is very common. Hives seem like a more serious reaction to me💜
If you had chicken pox when you were young It could be shingles. I went through that after BMT
