Has Anyone Done Car T
I have multiple myeloma. I was diagnosed 3/31/22. I have failed 4 treatments, inc. stem cell collection and I am now scheduled to do Car-T on 3/14. I have testing and labs to do before then and currently I am in rehab recovering from a partial spinal cord injury caused by tumors on thoracic vertebrae. My goal is to be able to walk at least with a walker, I have to get stronger, and gain weight back. I am currently a little over 101 lbs. and my normal is 127.
My schedule shows that on around May 8, I will be putting the T Cells back in my body and then they will be monitoring me for 4 weeks to make sure that I don't get sick as the newly re-programmed T Cells attack the myeloma cells. After that, praise God, I will be able to live my life again, cancer free!
I will keep you all posted on my progress and journey as I have this incredible opportunity to be in lasting remission and/or cured. (I have met a soldier who is totally cured after doing Car-T)!
Picture of me after graduating from first radiation session!
Had Car T Cell therapy performed on 1/18/23 after 4 prior treatments. Released from hospital on 1/26/23. Will keep all posted if possible.
There are many treatments in trial stages for MM that I am convinced will someday cure this disease. I have researched Car T and it is an effective treatment for some people. If I relapse, it will be a topic of discussion with my oncologist for her advice as it relates to my condition. Please keep us updated.
My husband will be having a Car-T transplant on January 12th. I will try yo kee everyone posted regarding his results.
I hate this disease! Prayers to all!💜💜
