I am recently diagnosed with amlyodosis and multiple Myloma. I have no idea the prognosis. I am treated with Dexamethasome,Cytoxan,Velcade, and Darzalex Faspro every Thursday, I have had 4 treatments
Dear Nancy ,
Thank you - I’m glad your husband is in remission- I just have amyloidous which is fortunate and VERY rare( 1 in 5000 and of those figures 4000 are African American and 1000 other- I am in the other and then that’s out of a million- so 1000 in a million). I too am in remission although they don’t consider it a cancer per se I do ungo the same treatments minus the total blood transfusion and am currently maintained on a monthly protocol infusion of Darzapro- I do however, have CKD as the amyloids killed my kidneys in 2020 which after 3 hospitalizations and 3 code blues they finally found the diagnosis. Now I require 3 times a week Dyalasis to stay alive. All this being said your husband and I actually have different diseases but I’m delighted to hear how well both seem to be doing. I certainly know how difficult it is to live with a chronic disease of such severity. I too am doing quite well considering. My drs are amazed so I try to be grateful.
Thanks for taking the time to write.
All my best,
Patty
