I have light chain MM, which if I recall,, is more prone to amyloidosis. Fat pad biopsies every year since MM diagnosis. After 11 yrs, fat pad was positive. Upper and lower intestinal bx concluded positive co ngo red amyloid. Cardiac mri confirms heart involvement. Stage 1. Since my MM is in deep remission now, the expectation is there will be no advancement of amyloid.
My MM team includes a amyloid cardiology specialist.

Yes. I have had MM going on 16 yrs. Fat bx in 2014 started showing scattered focal. positivity. In 2019, fat pad, upper and lower gi biopsies positive for AL AMYLOIDOSIS. Cardiac mri at the time showed amyloid in my heart. Recent card mri showed progression but I finally went into a cr with mrd neg 2 years ago. We're hoping that the progression occurred prior to mrd neg. I will be watched much closer now. I am asymptomatic from cardiac standpoint. No arrhythmia s , or signs of heart failure. The thought is to keep MM down, and hopefully the amyloid will not progress.

Yes. I have AL Amyloidosis caused by Smoldering Multiple Myeloma. Biopsy proven in liver and entire gastrointestinal tract. I most likely have it in other organs also though my heart seems to be spared.
