Radiation therapy uses high-energy rays or particles to kill cancer cells. Radiation may be used to treat areas of bone damaged by myeloma that have not responded to chemotherapy and/or other drugs and are causing pain or may be near breaking.

Some patients have a solitary plasmacytoma. Which is myeloma that is in one area of the skeleton. Or patients have myeloma that is causing pain in a specific area. Myeloma responds well to radiation 💕

Greetings from Alaska, my oncologist offered me radiation for my spine as I had a fracture at the L2 and a partial collapse at T6. I declined as I knew that radiation would cause other issues. I took bone agents and I am grateful that I am not having the same issues as before. Yes, the pain never really goes away there are Good days and bad days. I know some people have solid tumors in other places that require surgery and follow up with radiation. God bless and have a great day

some people have localized lesions on hard bone. if these are causing pain like mine was, radiation is an otion. Unfortunately this treatment will not only destroy cancer and nerve endings, bu talso bone itself. I had radiation on T3 vertebrate. 3 months later this vertebrate collapsed, paralyzing me below waist temporarily. If you can at all , get to a specilty hospital or clinic. If I had, it might of saved me a couple years of suffering. I go to UofMichigan ann Arbor. Good luck and God bless.

Wow Eddie that must have really hurt like hell and it’s sad T-13 couldn’t be fixed so you must still be in a lot of pain plus dealing with your rib pain. I have been fortunate not too have had any fractures yet. Hang in there buddy.
