Through the kidneys. I remember when I worked as a nurse. They didn't like to give it to dialysis patients. They did better with Dilauded or oxy💗💕💜

I found out it is filtered by the kidneys. So if you have a poorly operational kidney from whatever disease you must tell the person writing the script that you have this problem because morphine can kill you if your kidneys can’t filter it properly. It happened to me and I had been on this medication for only a few days. I took it carefully and according to directions. My daughter found me asleep and had a hard time waking me. She took me to ER. I don’t remember any of this. I was, as they call it, ‘ODd’
or spaced! It was days before I was in my right mind and weeks before I could remember normal things. It was longer still before I stopped having flash backs. The whole thing was absolutely wicked.

I am glad they figured it out Christine. You are right, people with poor kidney function should not take morphine😉
