Stem Cell Transplant And Dialysis

A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭
Fruitland, ID

My husband is to have a stem cell transplant early May. He is currently on dialysis, I am wondering if anyone else has experience in this realm and what their outcome was and their experiences in general. I am concerned the process will be too much for his body to handle. Thank you all for your input.

I know of one person that was dialysis dependent and had a transplant. She did well. Transplant is hard. But I am sure they will monitor him very closely. 🙏💜

I had MY stem cell transplant for Multiple Myeloma in December of 2012 at Roswell Cancer Institution. You will be expected to have the highest chemo dose to kill all the cells in your body the very first day, then I remained ther for 30 days. Here it is all most 10 years and my cancer is still here but I am alive
