If your Copper levels are low you can't absorb iron. I have high ferritin and low iron. I just started taking copper supplements, so I hope to see a change.

Iron pills have always caused me to have pain on my right side from under my rib cage to my waist, and around to my spine. My oncologist said I didn't need them because my anemia is caused by myeloma, not iron deficiency.

Yes, very common due to low immunity. Supplements or iron rich foods - B12 vitamins and B rich foods. It will be ongoing.

I did have low iron at diagnosis. I took supplements for a year and that fixed the problem 👍💕 Sometimes you need an infusion. They also have to make sure your B12 levels are good😉

I've added fish and iron rich foods to my diet: Brussels sprouts, red bell peppers, mushrooms, etc. Stir fries have become a staple. I do have more energy now. Blood tests tomorrow. Maybe my iron has improved.
