I understand that MGUS is not MM but is watched carefully because it can change. I am wondering why a PET SCAN? and why a FAT PAD? did anyone else have to have these test when they were diagnosed with MGUS? also - I'd like to hear anyone's stories, suggestions, etc on MGUS. I am new to all this and learning as much as I can. Thank you all.
I had a fat pad biopsy. It was negative but they still suspect amyloidosis. It’s very bad for your heart and organs. I have a heart condition. My prayers are with you. Merry Christmas anyway!

Is this site for all blood cancers, not just Multiple Myeloma? Is there a different section or page for other myelomas, such as Leukemia?I just did a search and saw this site is for myeloma, and only mentioned Multiple Myeloma once, so I'm assuming MM is just one.....

I found out by accident that my doctors notes show me as having stage 3 kidney disease! No one ever mentioned this, and when I asked about it my doctor seemed to think it was no big deal!

Is anyone dealing with MM and AL amyloidosis? If so, can you please tell me your symptoms, how do you manage the amyloidosis, and what significant impact does it have on MM and your daily activities? I am going through testing now to see if I also have AL Amyloidosis.
