Xgevia And Bone Problems In Jaw.
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone had bone problems with their jaw after taking Xgeva? If so how soon did it happen? I am only on my third treatment and have a tingling sensation in my upper left jaw. Is there an alternative drug that doesn't carry the same risks?

mine was not just pain but pieces of bone were starting to come up through my gums so the doctor had to saw of pieces I still have more that he will remove next visit. It's been three months since they found out what it was. They took me off Zomato as soon as her read the report. It doesn't pain me much but if I bit down on something it hurts. Its getting better but slow. It started a bunch of problems they ended up giving me so much medicine that it poison my body and I was so sick for last two months. They gave me a colonoscopy and endoscope as well. Still not up to par but getting there. Have a great day today. I am finally able to eat something but just small amounts but at least I can eat little bits at a time.

H you considered seeing a bone specialist. Maybe a better treatment. I understand the Myeloma does attack our bones so we do need some treatment.

I am dealing with this right now I have been seeing a oral surgeon. It is leaving bone pieces in my back tooth area. I have been dealing with this for about three months. Not to bad now the specialized oral surgeon takes a saw and shaves it down. I was seeing him once a week now its once every month. I was on antibody for three months and my chemo doctor took me off Zometo . I guess the Zometo can cause this. I was on it for almost three years. Doing much better now since I've been off it. Still doing treatment most likely for another few months. I hope this helps but remember to contact your doctor right away. make sure to doctor soon. your doctor

I have had lower jaw pain. The first time it took two to three months to start. They took me off of it, the jaw pain got better so they started me back on xgeva. It took about a week for the pain to return. They have taken me off of ot again and told me that they were not going to start it again.

Wendym Hi, You should mention it to your doctor but I think that is the risk in all of the bone strengthening agents perhaps more so with some than others. Love, Marcia 🌸
