Like any of these things, always communicate with your doctor. The toe could be the neuropathy or gout, I think. The doctor should be able to help if it is gout.

Hi Peggy, if it’s pain oppose to numbness, related to neuropathy, reach out to your doctor and discuss taking Lyrica, which is used for (diabetic) nerve pain.

Labs can distinguish if it’s gout.

Hi Peggy. I am pretty sure it is related to Peripheral Neuropathy. When I have pain like that I use lotion and rub it. CBD oil may help, it helps me. Also, I have used Capacin Cream .075 % (but be careful it is made with pepper and you need to use gloves or wash your hands well before touching anything else such as eyes). Charles-my son bought me a pouch that is made out of the same material as an electric blanket. You plug it n and adjust the heat to low, med or high. When my feet neuropathy gets bad, it really helps.
