Absolutely Katrina! It is time for a second opinion from a MM Specialist to find out if it is truly MGUS, Smoldering or Full blown MM. You should be monitored closely no matter which shows up. Love, Marcia
You need another doctor, they should always provide full information to their patients. I concur with others here, please obtain a second opinion from a doctor who actually cares about his/her patients.
I e-mail my Oncologist today and asked him did I have MGUS? I got no response. Will your insurance pay for a second opinion?
That's the first thing my doctor told me was that I had MGUS. I had that for 2 yrs before it turned into MM. There's no treatment for MGUS except iron if you're anemic which i was. My having MM didn't upset me too much because it was something we always talked about. I had my moments but for the most part I was ok with with the diagnosis.
Katrina - I had a Bone Marrow Biopsy done in 2018 by my old Oncologist - I found a new Doctor and Cancer Center in 2019 - new Doctor asked for my records and told me back in 2018 the Bone Marrow Biopsy confirmed I had MGUS - the old doctor never told me of this - you may want to look for a new Doctor...................
