Which ones did you keep and are there any that you allowed yourself to not keep? What do doctors recommend?
I had a tandem transplant. After the first one I was only allowed near my car givers and advised to avoid the outside world and i had to take acyclovir since my immune system was trashed. After… read more
Are you flossing everyday? Brushing twice a day? It’s important to brush along the gum line with a soft toothbrush.
Multiple myeloma for the last 9 years and have never been as tired as I have been for the last two weeks!
I just read an article about why it's important. It's because D3 helps you to absorb calcium and K2 tells the Calcium where to go! It directs the calcium to the bones instead of the soft tissue, which can cause atherosclerosis and heart attacks. It also activates osteocalcin, which holds calcium to bone. I don't like taking supplements, so I pull my calcium supplements apart and pour them into my yogurt. I hope this helps someone. It has made a huge difference in my osteoarthritis pain and… read more

My step father's result has shown stage 1 Multiple Myeloma
Is there anyone out there who considered both of these options? Which did you pick and why? I'd love to know anyone's experience with either of these myeloma centers. They are both about the same distance from us. My husband thinks it would be easier to drive in Little Rock, but I'm doubtful that's the best reason for making an important medical decision! But I'm thrilled he has finally acknowledged the importance of a 2nd opinion.
Hey, Jackie! I hope you're doing well. We're not looking forward to driving to either B'ham or LR, but I think a 2nd opinion will be useful.
After discussing the X-rays with my dentist, he explained that the medications make our mouths stay dry and sets us up for developing cavities because the saliva that usually helps wash the bacteria away is not there. I wish someone had mentioned this so I could try to prevent what has happened.
Lack of saliva is a contributing factor. As I must use inhalers for asthma as well, extra vigilant hygiene is a must. Rinsing after each inhaler use, flossing, & brushing 2x daily.
I’d like to propose a Test for the members of this Forum that would be able to participate
The idea is to compare your MSpike Results to a Blood Sample (Labs) clonoSEQ Test Results
I’ve recently discussed Labs - Blood Sample clonoSEQ Testing with my Onc at Johns Hopkins (JH). When a person is Negative, JH now accept a Blood Sample clonoSEQ test as a Valid Method to Track a person's MRD Status
Unfortunately, JH feels there's no value in getting a clonoSEQ test (even from a simple blood sample)… read more
