My diet was changed recently when I went to see a doctor about menopause and chemo. Part of my transplant stuff. She had me switch to all whole wheat stuff and lots of vegetables since I am fat and the way I carry my weight. Needless to say, I have been so sick every since
I finished with chemo and thought for sure I would start feeling better. Not the case. I'm sicker now than I ever was on chemo

Stephanie, I lost 30 lbs very quickly after transplant. First time in my life I couldn't eat. Please don't worry about your weight. Just eat healthy and extra protein can't hurt.
I have had intestinal issues since my SCT. I have been told it is because of the chemo, given just before the transplant, and will take a long time to heal. My transplant doctor told me that much of the discomfort is due to fiber. I know this is true. My primary oncologist/hemotologist told me, "If it bothers you, don't eat it." That is also the message I received while undergoing my 24 weeks of chemo, etc. before transplant. The dietitian told me to just eat. She wanted to make sure I was eating, even if it was soup from the deli. I have followed that advice and I am getting better. My SCT was in August 2018. Sometimes it is hard because I did nutrition education for many years and feel guilty that I am not eating better. However, I am making progress and happy about that. Good luck. Have you heard of the BRAT diet? It doesn't sound too nutritious but was mentioned in my cancer center materials. Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast, (white rice and bread). I has helped when my stomach was not happy.
Hi Stephanie,
That whole thing sounds like a wheat intolerance to me especially with the joint issue. Hopefully you will start to feel better. Weight was never brought up during my treatment, of course I get weighed every time I visit but before my SCT no mention. I just ate whatever I could get in. I had a terrible appetite. So I agree with the others, no worries about weight, stay healthy so that your transplant is a speedy success. ππ
Stephanie hope you feel better. They told my husband to eat lots of protein and healthy foods. They said he would lose weight during sct and he did.
I too lost about 35 pounds after transplant but gained it back about 6 months later. My local Onc wants me to lose the weight again. Good luck
