The Hematologist/oncologist keeps talking with me about taking Revlimid - which I do understand is used heavily to treat MM. I chose not to take it because the drug causes lots of side effects and I've heard about extreme sickness. I am doing this alone and can't deal with being extremely sick from the medicine. Anyway, has anyone else taken this approach and done well with it?

Members responded to a question about using just Daratumumab and Dexamethasone for induction therapy, with many sharing their personal experiences on Revlimid and encouraging the original poster to consider trying it. Several members noted that while Revlimid can cause fatigue, diarrhea, and other side effects, many found these manageable and emphasized that doses can be reduced or stopped if needed. A recurring theme was that a stronger multi-drug induction gives MM fewer places to hide, and that getting a deep early response often leads to longer remission.

I do understand but mm is not something to be ignored. Itself has devastating consequences and side effects.

I have been taking Revilmed for 2 years and no side effects and it dropped my numbers tremendously.

Debi, stay positive! I did the whole induction thing. I continue to take Revlimid and Dara once @ month injection. I’m doing fine. I take care of my husband, who has smoldering MM and AL Amyloidosis.

Hello DebiNorton,

I have been on Relivmid for three (3) full cycles now, without any complications. Additionally, I take Dexamethasone (steroid) day of and day after my injections. Aside from a few extra pounds, I haven’t experienced any negative side effects.

Albeit everyone is different and side effects can result due to a number of factors; side effects can be managed. After all what are the options?

There's an interesting aspect of MM and its ability to Survive and Thrive. Each type of MM Med attacks MM via different Pathways. There's a Primary set of 16 Pathways and secondary set of growth pathways that include up to 20 Pathways (maybe even more).

My Research shows that the standard Quad Treatment can very aggressively Kill MM via 11 of these 16 Primary Pathways. Therefore, if a person only uses a Mono-treatment Plan, such as DarzFasPro, there's Too Many Back-Doors that allow for MM to continue to Survive as a Cancer.

I've assembled a very long list of Supplements that can attack MM via All 20 Pathways - But - Supplements Alone Are Not Strong Enough To Kill MM, once it's at a very Active Level of at least Stage 2, probably even Stage 1.

I assisted one friend with a Protocol of Supplements, where her very Stable SMM (no progression in 5 years, due to her existing Diet, Supplements, LifeSyle) was able to see a 8% reduction in her IgA Levels after 3 months, that included new Supplements to her existing Regimen - But - that Same Protocol of Supplements Did Not Improve the Case of a friend that was already very Active IgG MM, though once he Started his Quad Treatments, his Complete Recovery was very quick (less than 2 months).

There's a strong possibility that once his Quad MM Meds performed the Major Kill of his MM, then the Full Supporting Supplements to attack the additional Pathways, acted as a Blocking Aid to Prevent his MM from using these Back Doors while his Primary Quad MM Meds were performing their Real Job of Killing MM.

For All the Stories I've read during these past 5+ years, I've not seen a Credible Case of Supplements Alone Resolving a Very Active MM, but I do know of many where Diet, Supplements, and Exercise have played an Outstanding Supporting Role in the Success of a Person's Induction - even Without Collecting Stem Cells and No SCTs.
