Hi anyone know of any support groups for Angie in her area so she can get her car t. She should not have wait for her husband to be available. Good luck Angie
It took 7 weeks to get another treatment between the two failed treatments so cancer numbers got real high and now don’t have time to wait for 3 weeks for car t so have to do bispecific tecvayli.
MDAnderson suggested car t first but my husband still works and a month from his job was a lot so I went with kyprolis dexamethasone and but kyprolis caused heart problems had to reduce dose then it stopped working so had to change treatment to Empliciti dexamethasone Pomalyst 4 mg but pomalyst had to be reduced to 2 mg and it did not bring numbers down. So now it’s urgent to get on another treatment quickly.
What a mess!!!
I’m just starting my journey. My heart aches for you!
I started my journey after I “broke” my back T12 and L2. That’s how my diagnosis was finally explained after long awaited MRI and 6 weeks of muscle relaxers….then diagnosed with MM. Miraculously the fractures healed - thought to be impossible with MM. Meanwhile I can’t stand straight and it is exhausting. I feel that pain at T12 and my lumbar.
My first oncologist is out of town but he calls as well as talks to any doctor I now see. I will see a local oncologist for treatment on June 9, 2026. My out of town doc said he’ll stay on my team as all my records are available to him-same healthcare system.
My take away is to do Car T cell first? All this is overwhelming.
Praying for a communication breakthrough for you AngieNixon!

Angie, I do wish your local doctor would communicate with MD Anderson. It's so frustrating for you. I have been reading that It's better to do CAR-T first, before bispecifics. Some patients can't wait to get their cells collected so the do bispecifics first. They would need to do a bridging therapy prior to CAR-T. You could start a bispecific right away. Hoping MD Anderson will help with your decision. Safe travels for you. 💜
My specialist at MDAnderson and my oncologist in Lake Charles don’t seem to communicate and I have to relay back and forth like the stone age. Dr at MDAnderson claims he cannot get to my records in My Chart and could I fax them to him so I email dr in Lake Charles to please fax them to him.
What happened to better technology and universal accessibility of data that’s keeping us alive?
I’m tired give out and just want to get my numbers down!
Does anyone understand this?
